Ingredients
- 20 fl oz milk or half milk and half single cream
- 1 oz flour - about 2 T
- 1 t mustard powder
- 1.5 oz butter
- 2 oz cheddar cheese - grated
- 1/2 t lemon juice
- pinch cayenne
- salt and pepper
Directions
- Put milk, flour, mustard and butter in a pan and bring to a boil whisking constantly.
- Once thickened and smooth, add cheese and cook on lower heat for 5 mins.
- Add lemon, cayenne and salt and pepper, mix and serve.
NOTE: Make a double quantity and there will be sufficient for 7 (6oz) pots for cauliflower - each pot will do about 1/2 a good size cauliflower.
