Focaccia

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup oil + 1 tbs.
  • 1/2 cup sliced onion
  • 1/2 ounce yeast
  • 3/4 cup warm water (105 - 115 degrees)
  • 1.5 cup bread flour
  • 2 - 3 tbs. minced rosemary
  • 1/2 t. salt
  • 1/2 t. salt

Directions

  1. Heat 2 tbs. oil and sauté onion until tender.
  2. Combine yeast and water, set aside.
  3. Combine flour, rosemary, 1/2 t. salt, 2 tbs. oil, onions and yeast.
  4. Mix for 5 mins or until dough pulls away from sides of the bowl and forms a ball.
  5. Cover and proof until double - 30 mins. Drizzle 1.5 t. oil over dough.
  6. Scoop from sides of bowl and pat into ball coated with oil. Coat inside of deep 9” pie plate with 1/2 t. oil. Pat dough onto plate or roll out on sheet pan.
  7. Preheat oven to 400 F. Let dough rise 30 mins. 
  8. Prick with fork , brush with remaining teaspoon oil, sprinkle with 1/2 t. salt and bake 15 - 20 mins or until golden brown.
